Ketchikan Tribal Housing Survey Analysis
The Ketchikan Indian Community Housing Authority asked Rain Coast Data to conduct a tribal housing needs assessment in Ketchikan. The housing assessment provides a data-based evaluation of community needs and goals. The most pressing housing need in Ketchikan, according to the survey, is more affordable housing, which 92% of survey respondents say is a high priority, followed by a need for more rental units (85%). Forty-five percent of tribal households say they have opened their homes overnight to a person experiencing homelessness within the last year. The information will be used in the development of Ketchikan Indian Community’s housing plan.
