Juneau Community Budget Survey Report • 2026
The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) published the results of a recent survey of resident priorities for the annual budget process. The report includes a summary of input gathered from 4,400 residents, and an appendix including over 6,000 open-ended comments.
The city faces a potential $10 to 12 million reduction in annual revenue beginning this coming fiscal year following the sales tax exemptions and property tax cap approved by voters in October 2025. The survey asked residents to weigh on the CBJ services that mattered to them most, and those that they would consider for a potential reduction in funding. The survey also asked residents about community value statements, revenue generation tools, sentiments toward CBJ and how they prefer to receive CBJ communications.
